Anabolic Steroid Dosages Are Different To Men in Female Bodybuilding

The attitude in the UK regards women bodybuilding and anabolic steroids seems to be one of secrecy and distrust, not to mention the back biting and bitching. Very few are willing to share the knowledge they have in you become good, it seems to be native to the UK that most people do not like to see others doing well and want to keep all the glory for themselves.

This is where I had the shock coming back to bodybuilding after 9 years of power lifting. In power lifting knowledge is eagerly given to those that will utilize it and not waste it and everyone shares experience from technique to what to take on the day of the competition. It was like a big family and we all helped each other. I can remember coaching a junior lifter that was one year away from seniors and my weight category – I didn’t worry about the fact that she was really good and was going to give me trouble next year when she moved up, it was just wonderful to watch someone learn and improve in front of your eyes and see her almost in tears at competition because she had done her best ever squat.

The open and unconditional help I have had since coming back into bodybuilding has been from those of the ‘old school’. Bodybuilders that have been around a long time – I mean 15 years plus on the circuit. These particular people have helped me immensely and I am forever in their debt but why are these guys the main people that really do want to help?

I don’t know when the attitude change happened but I don’t remember it being like this when I was competing bodybuilding before but there seems to be a new breed that are completely wedged up their own arses and if they spent the same amount of effort training as they do bitching about everyone else maybe we would have more successful bodybuilders on the international circuit. OK – tantrum over.

Anyway – back to the steroids. Obviously at this stage I am desperate not to fuck things up any more than I have done and have in fact have reduced my gear intake to the lowest since I started it and I look a hell of a lot better for it.

Unfortunately I still have a very long way to go and have just started to try growth – but again proper information is hard to find and since there are no controlled studies of HGH on people of normal physiology it is hard to find what seems to be the right dosage, right calorific intake, right timing, subcutaneous or intramuscular shot and the right gear to take with if in fact any?!! I’ll let you know how it goes but I can tell you that I tried a hard and heavy course before the WABBA Worlds to try and get a bit more cut and that worked incredibly well but the dosage was deliberately high – 6iu every day for 10 days before the show. I had already come off the Prima and Virormone before I started the course.
For off-season I have been recommended to take 4iu every 3 days so it will be interesting to see the results of the difference in dosage. And no – I’m not using insulin with it because I’m too much of a big girl’s blouse and am too dizzy to make sure I have the routine of my meals etc exact!

I suppose the moral of this is that recently I was approached after doing a guest spot at a show by a figure class girl that wanted to go into physique. She wanted to look like me (poor girl, she obviously lost her glasses). I found myself telling her that unless she was willing to pay the price it really wasn’t a good idea. I told her about the side effects, the comments that are made by strangers, the stares every time you walk down the street or even set foot outside your own front door. You even get to the stage that when people look at you, you automatically assume they are thinking ‘well she has the face of a girl but the body looks like a man’ when in fact they are about to give you a compliment. It creates paranoia if you aren’t careful.

So, if you or anyone you know wants to get into woman’s physique please seek out advice before you try any gear as the price can be too high for some to pay. Find another female that has competed and pick her brains or find a guy that successfully coaches women but one thing you must remember is that it still all comes down to trial and error and individual chemistry. I just don’t want to see others making the same mistakes that I did.

What would be really useful was if we could get more information together and make it accessible to women that need it. I am certainly no authority, I just learnt by some of the mistakes I made but I know there are people out there that have first hand experience and coaching experience. How to Figure Out Your Power Factor



To figure out the percentage increase in your power factor, use the following equation:

You will need your last power factor which we will refer to as - Old Number
And new power factor calculation which we will refer to as - New Number

New Number – Old Number = Difference In lbs/min in last four phases.

Difference Divided by Old Number Multiplied by 100 = Percentage

Increase in Power (Diff. / Old Power Factor X 100)



Monitor your percentage increase and use it to know exactly how much and when to proceed to the next training frequency cycles.

Time to Get More Recuperation


To monitor your progress and know when to advance to the next training cycle, monitor your power calculations for compound mass building exercises once per every four training phases
Besides the actual power calculation, compare your increases in power from week to week. As soon as a plateau or tapering off of gradual but constant increases in power occurs, it is time to move to the next training frequency cycle.
For example, you currently train in cycle one. You regularly make increases in power of 12- 15 percent every training phase. Then after calculating your current power factor, less than a 5 percent increase in power was made. This is your scientific means of measurement, your signal to advance to training cycle 2.
Once you are in training cycle three rarely will more rest help to increase growth.
Remember our goal is to shock your body into explosive muscle growth not just get stronger.
When training plateaus occur in training cycle three, try some of the following techniques to break plateaus:
1.Switch to a high repetition training plan for two weeks.
2.Take a full week or two off from training.(aerobics optional)
3.Increase caloric intake by five hundred calories per day for a week.
4.Cut out any aerobics.

The above techniques assume all these factors are optimal. Keep in mind that every person is going to progress at different rates. Some people may gradually increase power by four or five percent every four phases consistently. A drop of a percent or two is enough to consider more rest.
For other subjects a regular power factor increase of 10 percent is normal. For these individuals a drop to 5 percent is a signal to move to the next training cycle. For all subjects more experience will result in power factor increasing more gradual over time. As you become more experienced do not be discouraged with smaller percentage increments of three or four percent.

How to Recover Between Workouts for an Explosive Growth Spurt

To make optimal recovery between workouts for growth the following must be in place:

1. Lots of nutrients at all times in blood to support muscle repair and growth.
2. Quality sleep / rest
3. Handle stress properly.
4. Healthy body including kidneys, heart, lungs, liver.
5. Optimal hormonal production.
6. Enough time between workouts to recuperate.

Considering items one through five are all in order, our goal is to properly adjust time between workouts to sustain an explosive growth spurt.
For an explosive growth spurt it is assumed that the more you train (as in experience not length of workouts) the more effective you will be at increasing your intensity. As you increase intensity more rest is required.

The workout program has three rest cycles. The first cycle has less recuperation time and more frequent workouts. As training progress is made, the training frequency is less. For example instead of training every second day like in the first cycle, the second cycle you now train every third day.

As you can see an extra day between training sessions is added as you become a more advanced trainee. As you are able to train more intensely you put more stress on your body. The extra rest time between workouts helps:
Keep Cortisone levels as low as possible to allow your natural anabolic hormones to have greatest growth effects.
Gives liver and kidneys time to recuperate to aid in explosive growth.
Decreases constant strain on tendons and ligaments from heavy lifting.
Gives muscles lots of time to repair and grow huge.

The best estrogen maintenance drug

Formestane is the first in a new line of selective, steroidal-based aromatase inhibitors. It is currently available in a few European countries, and is expected to reach U.S. shelves before long. Formestane is structurally a derivative of androstenedione, most specifically 4-OH androstenedione. Androstenedione is a readily aromatized steroid, so clearly this similarity welcomes interaction with the aromatase enzyme. Its activity in the body is in fact that of a suicide inhibitor, meaning that the compound will become inextricably bound to the aromatase enzyme upon contacting it. Its effect is therefore comparatively much more lasting than that seen with reversible, competitive inhibitors. This is no doubt the reason formestane was shown in studies to be as much as 60 times more potent than aminoglutethimide. As with Arimidex, this compound can help achieve near total suppression of aromatase.
Due to poor oral bioavailability, formestane is commercially prepared as an injectable product. The typical recommendation is an injection of 250mg (typically 1 ampule or injection) every two weeks. Though estrogen suppression can be marked with this dosing pattern, some studies do suggest that by the second week (near the time the dosage is to be repeated) estrogen levels may begin to recover.
The BEST estrogen maintenance drug?
Clearly there is more to consider in choosing an estrogen maintenance drug than just which is the most effective. The discussed differences in cholesterol alterations between anti-estrogens and aromatase inhibitors for example are worth taking into account. In this regard an antiestrogen such as tamoxifen or clomiphene would be most preferred. This is in great contrast to aminoglutethimide, Nolvadex or Clomid, which can cost $100 or less monthly. By measure of which is the most efficient remedy for estrogenic side effects, it would seem that Arimidex and formestane would technically be the most effective. Though more expensive, formestane was actually shown to be slightly less reliable than Arimidex in head to head studies, so its higher price should not automatically lead us into thinking it is the superior of the two. Ultimately however, it is doubtful that either of the new selective aromatase inhibitors (or other related agents slated to be released) will prove to be leagues ahead of the already tried and accepted estrogen maintenance drugs Nolvadex, Clomid and aminoglutethimide in the eyes of athletes. This is simply because the mentioned agents all deal with the action/buildup of estrogen quite effectively (in terms of clinical effectiveness of three agents compare closely to the new selective inhibitors), and outside of a medical setting the high cost of these newer agents will likely prohibit wide spread use.

Bodybuilding And Creatine

Creatine (methylguanidine-acetic acid) was discovered in 1832 by Michel Eugene Cheverul. Later on, in 1834 Justus von Lieburg “confirmed” that creatine was a normal part of meat. It was also found that there was more creatine in wild animals which underwent more exercise than animals that were living in captivity which exercised less.
During the early part of the 1900s by using creatine as a supplement allowed for a boost in creatine in animals. Later on, phosphocreatine (creatine phosphate or phosphorylated creatine) was discovered in the year of 1927. Then in 1934, the creatine kinase (the enzyme that “catalyzes” phosphocreatine was found). Finally, in 1968, phosphocreatine was found in the process of recuperating from exercise.
In foods, creatine is found primarily in red meat and fish. Eaten creatine is then eventually sent to the bloodstream. Creatine is also synthesized within the body by the liver, kidney and pancreas, although this primarily takes place in the liver. This is done in two steps: the first step is when an amidine group from arginine goes to glycine to make guanidinoacetic acid. Then in step two, a methyl group goes to a guanidinoacetic acid from S-adenoslymthionine forming creatine. In the synthesis of creatine, there are some controls on it so that when there is less creatine in one’s diet, there will be more synthesis of creatine in the body. In opposition, if there is a lot of creatine present in one’s diet, then there will be less creatine synthesis in the body.
The storage of creatine in the body occurs in two forms; in the form of phosphocreatine or simply creatine. In the average adult male weighing 70kg, there is 120g of creatine of which 95% is found in the skeletal muscle. Some of the creatine goes to other various parts of the body such as the heart and brain. Of all the creatine in the skeletal muscles, 60-70% of that creatine is phosphocreatine. And because it is phosphocreatine, it cannot leave the membranes.
